bernie-sanders-portlandorI love people who love Bernie Sanders.

They are intelligent.

They see through bullshit.

They seek truth.

They strive to be fair.

Each one of them is a daily reminder to me that the world is okay.

Before this happened, I wasn’t so sure some days.

From the time I was a kid I knew that the fix was in and I just wanted to Rage Against the Machine…

But no one would rage with me.

Everyone was watching football.

I was the only one protesting.

Why couldn’t I just relax and watch American Idol?

Why was I angry about what was happening to others?

The world was going to hell and no one noticed…or cared.

When I found out Bernie was running I knew it would change my life.

I ran to my girlfriend’s house and said

“You know the Senator from Vermont that I like? He’s running for President!!”

She pretended to remember and I paid back her courtesy by rambling on about him for like fifteen minutes.

She had no idea that this was the first of many bedroom speeches about the Brooklyn Jewish guy I had literally fallen in love with.

To my knowledge, she has never been jealous.

But she might have ran, if she had known that my daily moods would be decided by what people in the media had said about my hero.

She couldn’t have known, in that moment, that I would break into nightly rants in the kitchen about Bernie Freaking Sanders (!!!) and get myself so worked up that I would have to stop talking because my throat was tightening and I was about to cry.

I had no way of predicting that my kids and their friends would soon come to talk more about Bernie Sanders than they talk about video games.

I could never have guessed that this great man and his run for the Presidency would have resulted in bringing me closer together with my family and friends.

I never anticipated that we would spend so much of our lives making signs and t-shirts and traveling across the country to attempt to be tiny cogs in some great and beautiful machine.

I never thought I would be involved in something so great that everywhere I went I would meet amazing people who shared my values and my desire to make America all it can be.

Being a Bernie Sanders supporter eliminates the need for greetings.

There are no strangers.

When we meet each other we are instantly friends.

We know what we stand for and we know what we stand against.

I love people who love Bernie Sanders.

They are good and decent people.

We do not follow someone who is secretive and scandalous.

We follow someone who is inherently good.

Someone who dissolved all the imaginary barriers of age, race, orientation and gender and brought people together in a way we did not know was possible.

We know all the Bernie-Bot jokes and hear how we are cult-like and “drink the Bernie Kool-aid”

We’ve all been called commie.

We’ve all been disowned by a family member.

We’ve all been made fun of by people who, sadly for them, just don’t get it.

But we get it.

We have been waiting for this our entire lives.

We were sleeping and wanting desperately to be awakened.

We are the misfits…

The outsiders.

The huddled masses.

A hundred million fists pressed against the sky.

We are United.

  1. This sounds like brainwash insanity to me.
The same way Adolf Hitler put a spell on desperate
Germany. I’m a gay woman, I know what it is
like to be a misfit too, but what Bernie Sanders
wants to do is basically Communism, world
    wide Communism.. and Communism,
and the Godless government always fails,
and whatever Bernie and that Pope are cooking
up for us will be so devasting, it will be more
terrible than both world wars combined.
My family came from Russia and Poland,
(just like our new false Messiah Bernie Sanders)
and they came out of Communism, and it
was Hell on earth! I would like to see if
the imposter counterfeit Christ Bernie Sanders
could live in Communism?! Probably not!
This man is the ultimate deceiver, which explains
why he is constantly flicking out his tongue
just like the ancient serpent deceiver he really is!

Fell in lov e with him. And when I heard he was running for president I was so excited. This was the political revolution I was waiting for all of my life. A nd Bernie is the right man to lead it. I was scared of the cheating though. I hope he runs third party with jill Stein . Go Bernie

  4. I’m glad I found a group who share my passion and obsession for a Senator from Vermont. In the early days I would holler at my husband quick Bernie’s on TV. Usually a so called coversation was 3 seconds long. It was t till he won NH he started to get some MSM time. I was devouring every online shows
I really hate how DWS and HRC rigged the election. The one bright spot she is walking back payday loans. (DWS) Pressure from Bernie’s following and Tim Canova are doing our best to remove her from the house and of corse the DWS.
I will never forget making a fool of myself by looking for the person with Bernie who was sporting a Bernie bumper sticker. The first time Bernie canvassing came to my house I grabbed them with big hugs and got hooked up to canvass as well.
Some fond memories during this primary including a hundred supporters were waiting for him to land. It was about 4am when Bernie got off the plane he climbed in the back of the pickup and have his mini stump speech. He must have been exhausted and cold but you could see his delight
Of course the birdie who flew in to listen to Bernie
I’ll never forget the people I have met.
    #stillSanders. #feelinthebern
