Jane Sanders DID NOT SAY To Not Write-In Bernie Sanders

JANE SANDERS NEVER SAID NOT TO WRITE IN BERNIE SANDERS.

WE WERE FED MISINFORMATION FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD INFILTRATED OUR RANKS AND GAINED OUR TRUST.

THE STORY OF HOW THAT HAPPENED CAN BE FOUND HERE.

THE VERMONT BERNIE SANDERS WRITE-IN IS STILL ON AND WE ENCOURAGE ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE UNHAPPY WITH THEIR BALLOT CHOICES TO WRITE-IN BERNIE SANDERS NAME AS A MEANS OF PROTESTING THIS RIGGED ELECTION.

jane
Here is the original story, with the false quote removed.
Sanders
It’s a chilly overcast day here in Indiana and I just received some news that was kind of devastating.
And just to be clear, it was politically devastating, not REAL LIFE devastating.
Everyone in our home is happy and healthy, as we all grope along slowly, trying to deal with the craziness that life throws at us from day-to-day.
My family is giving me a lot of space.
Occasionally Carrie comes up to me and squeezes my shoulder and then drifts away.
They know how I am.
They know how personally I take all of this.
I drove to the coffee shop with my laptop and sat down to break the news, tears resting just behind my eyes.
My lap-top is covered in “Ask me about Bernie Sanders” stickers.
As I opened it up, a little black boy came up to me, maybe 10 years old and said..
“I’m mad about Bernie!!”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I’m mad that he’s not in the election anymore. I love Bernie Sanders. I’m mad about it!!”
As I fought back tears, I was able to choke out an ironic smile, swallow hard and find the words..
“I’m mad too.” I said.
writein3
I was hesitant to tell you about the little kid, because it sounds made up, but that really happened to me, just now, sitting here in Indiana and I know it’s politically incorrect to point out that the kid was black, but that’s relevant to me for a million tiny reasons.
Because wasn’t that one of the lies they told about Bernie?
They said that black people didn’t like him.
They said it was just a bunch of young white kids and that our movement wasn’t real.
So when a little black boy in Indiana comes up to me and says that he is “Mad about Bernie.” it means something to me.
It’s why I scrapped the entire opening to this article and just wrote down what happened instead.
Because “I’m mad about Bernie.” too.
I’m really incredibly angry about it.
And it sucks to see our voices taken from us.
And it sucks to see our movement divided and watered down.
And it sucks to be told a million times a day that I should vote for Hillary Clinton because that’s what Bernie asked me to do or that I should “grow a spine” and vote for Jill Stein because she has a “similar platform”, never mind that one candidate cheated millions of people who I care about out of a fair election and the other is running a campaign that is simply not very organized and not nearly as effective as it could have been.
But all of that will shake out on November 8 and I still have not even begun to explain why my heart is spinning at 33 1/3 rpm today…
writein4
Today we were headed to Vermont to canvass for Bernie Sanders.
A few weeks ago I wrote a quirky little article about how Bernie Sanders could win Vermont and theoretically throw the election into the House of Representatives, force a second round of voting and then have the new House vote him in to become the President of the United States.
I didn’t discover the idea, Dawn Papple did.
My article just called people to action and the idea spread more rapidly than I ever thought possible.
I did a lot of research before I wrote the article and if you understand the intricacies of how the House would have most-likely voted, you would have seen that Sanders had a way better chance of winning this way, than I initially stated.
I’m incredibly honored that so many people read the article.
My goal is to be an activist writer.
I want to develop a large enough group that we can direct our legions correcting the injustices we see in our country.
I want the establishment to fear our collective voice.
I want to carry on Sanders’ movement through collective activism and apparently it’s working, because in between the thousands of people telling us we could never do it, other people started to actually volunteer.
getoverit
We worked hard behind the scenes in hidden Internet groups, screening out potential saboteurs and checking people’s past volunteering to see if they were legitimate.
We were actually concerned about the Clinton campaign finding out about our movement and trying to block it. In fact there were a few people who contacted us asking questions, pretending to be volunteers, that actually worked for the Democratic Party.
It was pretty exciting, being in a secret underground movement, but also it produced a lot of anxiety.
On top of dealing with fears of Clinton sabotaging our efforts, we were getting tons of anger from Jill Stein supporters, which was really frustrating seems how we ARE(!!) Jill Stein supporters and our movement’s official position was to encourage people to vote Stein in every state but Vermont, a state with only a few hundred thousand voters, specifically targeted as to NOT interfere with our goal to get Jill to 5% nationally, so the Green Party would get federal funding in the next election cycle!!!
We were getting attacked from all sides, which of course meant that we were actually onto something, but it was also very stressful.
But we ventured forth, thanks to our incredible team of volunteers.
We actually developed a cool little system where we would coordinate traveling canvassers with Vermont residents for shelter, someone wrote a phone-banking program that was just as good as the one we used on Bernie’s site and imported every phone-number in Vermont into it…
And PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY PHONE-BANKING!!!
We had an amazing canvassing coordinator on the ground in Burlington and others en route from around the country to help knock on doors.
We even had The Washington Post flying into Burlington to write a story about our initiative.
We had well-written, simple to understand, literature to pass out to people and most importantly we had an incredibly high success rate of voter conversion.
40% of the people we spoke to in Vermont preferred writing-in Bernie Sanders over voting for any other candidate!!
Our movement was peaking at just the right time.
Our goal was to get the population converted in the last week before the election, so that the Clinton campaign wouldn’t have time to react.
Everything was perfect!!
Except for one thing..
Bernie didn’t want it.
He told us so.
And although I am rebelling against Bernie in my refusal to vote for Hillary Clinton, I really don’t feel comfortable showing up in his back yard and pissing him off.
If Bernie Sanders yelled at me, I’m pretty sure I would burst into tears.

To be honest, Bernie didn’t tell us.
It was Jane who told us that Bernie doesn’t want this.
Our canvassing trainer has been close friends with Bernie and Jane for her entire life.
So even though she was out canvassing with her team and getting positive responses, in her heart, a feeling of dread was growing.
“What if Bernie didn’t appreciate what we were doing? What if her lifetime friend became upset with her over our ‘gift’?”
Last week, she shared these fears with me and said that she wanted to talk to Bernie about this before we went any further.
I told her that Bernie would be forced to stand against our movement, due to his position with the DNC and I asked her if she would be willing to speak with Jane Sanders instead.
She agreed and headed over to visit Jane on Sunday afternoon, as I sat here in Indianapolis, with my traveling canvassing crew (my poor kids and my incredibly patient girlfriend) waiting to hear if we were hitting the road or not.
Here is what she said…
(THIS SECTION HAS BEEN REMOVED. PREVIOUSLY THIS WAS A SUMMATION OF A MESSAGE THAT OUR CANVASSING COORDINATOR, NICOLE GUERIN IN VERMONT HAD SENT ME THAT BASICALLY SAID THAT JANE SANDERS WAS ASKING US TO STOP OUR WRITE-IN CAMPAIGN FOR BERNIE SANDERS.
JANE SANDERS HAS SINCE TWEETED AND DENIED THAT THIS CONVERSATION EVER HAPPENED!!
I APOLOGIZE TO JANE FOR OUR SOURCE BEING INCORRECT.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS TIME.
AS EVENT COME TO LIGHT OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND WE FIND OUT MORE, ALL WILL BE REVEALED.
AT THIS TIME IT SEEMS THAT OUR ORGANIZATION WAS INFILTRATED BY THE MEMBER OF A RIVAL CANDIDATE IN AN ATTEMPT TO SABOTAGE OUR WRITE-IN CAMPAIGN.
WE WILL KNOW MORE IN THE COMING DAYS.)
So that’s that.
We offered a gift that is not wanted.
We are trying to force something that is not there.
We are misguided in our efforts.
I’ve had so much anxiety about traveling to Vermont.
All these canvassing trips we made in the past year scared the hell out of me and I thought we were done with it.
I was hoping to move into the acceptance phase of my grief and here I was heading out to canvass for Bernie one last time, reopening the wound.
But he doesn’t want it.
At a certain point I have to accept that I am just a crazy person when the very person I’m fighting for tells me that my methods are not a good idea.
Activism without proper guidance is destructive.
The road to hell being paved with good intentions and all..
Congressional Democrats Hold News Conference Opposing Fast-Tracking The Trans-Pacific Partnership
So we unloaded the car.
We aren’t going to Vermont.
Everyone is relieved and sad.
Because this is more than just the end of our crazy little movement.
This is the end of the denial phase of my grief.
Bernie Sanders isn’t going to be President and “I’m mad about it.”
But I’m also incredibly sad about it and I know that you are too.
Or maybe you are of the mindset that Jill Stein will save us.
I’m envious of you if you believe that.
I once believed it too.
But those feelings will have to be addressed in another article.
For now, I will just say that I really think you should vote for Jill Stein if you believe in her platform.
And if you really want to write Bernie in, then it’s your vote.
But he would prefer that you didn’t.
And whomever you vote for, I beg you to stop fighting with others who see things differently from you.
I know you are “mad about Bernie.”
We all are.
Let’s all take our collective rage out on the down-ballot Republicans and vote them out of office on November 8, so Bernie Sanders can be head of the House Budget Committee.
There is still a way that we can win.
But it won’t be from writing him in.

  1. Great post, thanks for writing this and sharing it, appreciate it. I’m doing what Bernie says, too. Will share your post in my Bernie group on Facebook. I actually live in a state where it doesn’t matter, I could go ahead and write him in if I wanted to. But I want to follow his direction.

    1. He told us not to listen to him if he told us who to vote for. He campaigned against Hillary during the primary. Hillary and company sabotaged his primary campaign. Does it make any sense that he would ask you to support a woman and campaign that would engage in such undemocratic tactics. Look below the surface. Bernie in the end has done more harm. There are all those millennials who were excited to promote, as it initially appeared, such an authentic individual that seemed to be against corporate America and for us who have no voice. Vote for someone that carries his true agenda (Jill Stein) and not for someone who he was forced (I only hope) to campaign for. If he was not coerced into promoting Hillary, then he becomes just like the rest of Washington DC politics and there are millions of very sad young as well as older Americans.

  2. You know damn well they cannot contractually get behind this. Jane sounded a lot more open ended then the interviewer or the author. She said to vote your conscience. Sounds like she already knows who’s going to be president. As if she would know how the House would vote too. You shouldn’t have given up so easy and you should NEVER have sent someone to talk to the Sanders’. They could never condone this operation. What do you think they would say. You were doing great til this. #opdeny270 Bernie for President of Vermont. It hurts No One and tells the world that we the people are not behind this corrupt charade and impending nuclear flirt with Russia. Hillary never asked us for our vote. Still hasn’t. She’s spit in our faces instead. Bernie’s votes in VT would count. Do you think Jill can take VT? or that the House would seriously consider her? Only Bernie has the numbers to stop Cl-ump. He denies he had the votes but we saw friends in multiple states purged. Again, you should NEVER had made contact with Bernie and Jane.

    1. This was a friend of Bernie and Jane that made contact. I’m sure that Jane was as open, honest and forthright as she could be. I highly doubt there were secret messages in her words that meant “go ahead and keep fighting to make Bernie POTUS”. Jane would have no reason that she could NOT say “he doesn’t want it”. And it seems shecwas pretty clear and direct about that.

Yes, I agree it would be hard for her to say “go ahead”, but Jane would not have any reason that she had to directly say “DON’T” in that case.

      1. Exactly. She couldn’t have said “go ahead” but she could have just smiled and said “I obviously can’t stop you from doing what you want to do”…or something cryptic like that.

  3. Jane and Bernie know what most Americans do not, having been through the meat grinder. Some of us have figured it out on our own and have been saying it for months. The entire election is a fraud, a show put on for the People to give them the impression that their wants and needs count. They do not. Presidents are selected, not elected, and the powers that be–the Fed, Wall Street, etc, along with the Rockefellers and Rothschilds want her in–it is her turn–and so she is in. Game over, man. Game over. I am writing Bernie in regardless. The so-called chosen candidates will NOT get a vote from me, and I’m only writing Bernie in as a token parting shot. Pointless, though it is, I am doing it.

      1. That’s just not true. In most states a write in vote for Bernie is counted, though he won’t have much chance of winning any electors in most winner take all states. In states where Bernie isn’t a registered write in option voting for him counts for nothing but it does not disqualify your entire ballot! That’s absurd.

Since I see most of Berniecrats are still onboard and we out numbered the Ice Queen’s people at our caucus and it felt good to see the numbers. We all could still rally behind him. There is lots of time left!

Ranking Member, Senate Committee on the Budget
Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
      Member, Subcommittee on Energy
      Member, Subcommittee on National Parks
Member, Subcommittee on Water and Power

      1. AND from what I understand, it was Bernie’s membership on all these committees which was threatened by the DNC that caused him to finally back down and ‘support’ Hillary.
If the DNC were to revoke his membership to these committees, it would make him essentially impotent in Congress.
(If nothing else, it makes WAY more sense than all the other conspiracy theories floating around like “they threatened to kill Jane”, yada yada yada…

That would not be good enough for them actually. We can all bet that the government will be watching us even more than they have before. DEATH TO TYRANTS!

  5. Michael.

I’m still waiting for an actual criticism of Jill Stein other than her campaign is disorganized. Of course it is. Run on a shoestring. Millions who agree with her unwilling to help.

She is the only peace candidate; she’s willing to take on the war machine surveillance state. Bernie wasn’t. Which, with climate change, are the two most important issues. So, what is the downside of voting for her if you agree with her?

We have to face the fact that the vote we have been allowed really isn’t worth much, given the way choices are doled out. The one value it does have is pushing Stein over 5% to provide $ to help next time.

    1. I think I’ll be voting for Jill (in Oregon) but I’m not happy to be doing so. It’s by process of elimination rather than choice for me and I’ll tell you why. I believe in the green party platform almost entirely! I think they are right on in terms of most policy, but the Green Party strategy is a crock of shit. Jill Stein has never been elected to office! She has zero political experience. The green parties lack of commitment to running a real campaign with real qualified candidates does more harm than good. It takes good activists and marginalizes them in an ineffective waste of time and resources that can only end in burn out. At the same time it risks splitting the left vote. We need serious election reforms like ranked choice voting, the popular vote and campaign finance reform before they have a shot in the dark at being effective. Moreover the Green Party makes progressives look bad with their naive and ineffective idealism and tarnishes the legitimacy of their often right on ideas by branding them with the protest vote label.

If we really cared about the issues and wanted to be effective and create real progressive change like the Greens should we should run our best and brightest as Democrats or Independent, whatever party they can actually be heard and elected under. Progressives like Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard and Nina Turner know how to get elected and represent for what the Democratic Party should be without selling out in the process. They are the type of politicians that can actually use their power in office to bring about the election reforms we need to make 3rd parties a reality, not a scapegoat.

I urge Vermont (and Maine and Nebraska) to please go ahead and write in Bernie! I also urge voters in Red states to vote Johnson and voters in blue states to vote in Jill. He and Jane can’t endorse the tactic because it’s a risky one and we can’t afford to have him scapegoated but we need him and we need to send a message to the DNC that we still have power and marginalizing us will backfire. This war has to end and we need Bernie at the helm to stop this endless escalation and warmongering.

Bernie will still be a leader for us who are with him. change doesn’t happen overnight but this is the most engaged electorate I’ve ever seen and I’m counting on hearing from Bernie after the election.

    1. Remember Bernies words – Bernie stated and I quote: “I will never tell you how to vote. If I do, don’t listen to me.” (Bernie was forced to endorse her for what ever reason.)

Bernie also stated that we need to vote for progressives down ticket:
The only progressive running for president is Jill Stein, and her platform is almost identical to Bernies….She is also working for peace and prosperity for our people and our country!

  9. Bernie DOES want it and I think Jane wants it too, but neither of them are going to ask for it, for several reasons, the biggest of which is that if they have to ask for it, then Bernie doesn’t have the support that he needs to get things done as President. But they don’t have to ask. We have to ask each other. We have to spread the word. We have to do the work. It’s up to us, not them. Yes, Bernie wants it, but what you should ask yourself is whether you want it. Bernie has chosen a life as a public servant. It’s what he likes to do. Do you want him to serve as our President? I do, and I will be voting for him. Ans I’ll ask. Please help share the news that Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders needs us to campaign for him. https://twitter.com/DonaldKronos/status/787946828339654656

    1. Ok. I am not resigned and I am still mad as hell. I read the wording of Jane’s responses very carefully and this is what I noted. He does NOT want to be a write-in candidate. However, the OTHER statement is the one that caught me…the wording. Bernie will not run while there is a VIABLE candidate on the ballot. Well the one viable candidate who is there is Hillary. So if she chooses to resign or is forced to by information that comes out THEN Bernie would very possibly consider it. But the way to do that is not through write-in. He is already poised to BE back on the ballot as the primary candidate with the second highest number of pledged delegates. He was very specific about having all their names read into the record and equally specific about his language of suspending the convention rules (I think that’s right) but it was done in a way where the bylaws were not suspended which is where the rules are re candidate positions and rules of cecession. He also asked that her name be entered in by the convention as the nominee (passive) and did not personally nominate her nor cede his delegates. He has continued to campaign for her because if he refused to it would violate the contract and he would lose his standing…plus they threatened to wipe out all the platform changes they fought so hard for. So he is making sure that he does not make it easy to end run him and nominate someone else should Hillary choose or be forced to step down. See, at that point there would be no VIABLE candidate on the ballot. I think he WOULD accept the nomination then. Wikileaks may make that happen…or her health… or some of the lawsuits filed by Bob Patrakis or Election Justice USA or (even better) by Citizens Oversight in San Diego (just finished phase two of their court trial) and other election activists in L.A. challenging a whole slew of irregularities. Those 2 CA groups may succeed in getting the 1% audits of ALL counties in CA! HOWEVER, THERE IS ONE OTHER THING THAT OCCURRED TO ME. This MAY be covered in the class action against the DNC but are there other rules for candidates that Hillary may have violated that would void her nomination under Party rules?

See, a lot of people accused Bernie of not fighting for us after the primaries showed so many marks of fraud or rigging. But actually it was we who let HIM down. There is no way his campaign could have fought in all those counties in different states with different laws. That was OUR FIGHT. OUR VOTES, OUR FIGHT. Or it will happen over and over again. THAT would be a REAL REVOLUTION–TO TAKE ON ELECTION FRAUD WHERE WE LIVE. It would be worth a chat with both the folks at Election Justice USA and especially with Ray Lutz of Citizens Oversight in San Diego to see what we can focus on locally at this late date to make a difference. I know that Ray does free training with election audit tools they have developed for anyone who wants to learn it. I know also that these groups could you even small donations to help with court costs. Ray has an ambitious plan to get team leaders in each of the 175 largest counties in the country to monitor these elections. Those 175 contain a majority of voters in the nation. Thanks for letting a newcomer to your group have her (lengthy) say! Solidarity and Courage!

George Soros said it himself. That being said, we do whatever we can to screw them the way they screwed Bernie and the rest of them.. Flip the damn Senate and vote Jill ( hopefully she can get the 5% she needs to include Greens next election. ) since HRC has been selected already, she doesn’t need our vote and after the way we were treated, she wouldn’t get it anyway. In the meantime, I’m praying for a miracle because Bernie is the only one I wanted. He can’t stop her from doing what the Establishment wants her to do. Being from a small state like Vermont, it seems my vote doesn’t really count since I always vote Democrat (or Independent!) I know my state will end up ‘blue’ at the end of the day but I still want to make sure my voice is heard! ‘I’m voting Hillary because I’m afraid if I don’t, Trump the dump wins’ I will take part of that blame, but all I want to do and all I’ve ever wanted to do is vote for Bernie! (Re-sending this I realize voting for a candidate out of fear is not how you should vote!) Politics are messy and I don’t deny that games may have been played to make Sanders step aside, but HE WOULDN’T DO THAT UNLESS HE HAD TO BECAUSE BERNIE SANDERS IS NOT, AND HAS NEVER BEEN A SELL OUT! so, either he stepped aside for the ‘greater good’ or because of what the media likes to call ‘millennial conspiracy theories.’ I could vote for Jill Stein, I remember hearing her on NPR four years ago and thinking YES! she sounds like Bernie! If only he’d run! Ha! And I’m sick of having to decide between two parties just because ‘that’s the way it’s always been done.’ This country is still young and as millennials we know ‘just because that’s the way it’s always done’ is a cop-out excuse for the older generation to keep control and silence us. But! We are the most educated generation that has ever been! So maybe we know a thing or two about the world and how move forward!

After that rant, I’m still not any closer to deciding who to vote for…but maybe, being from Vermont, I don’t think what I vote is going to give Trump a win, so I should just go with my gut, which is something I’ll need to decipher after tomorrow night’s debate (which will no doubt be absolutely ridiculous!)

        1. Dear Emily, Trump will fight back and then he and Hillary will be even again. Just go on fighting for Bernie and if you don’t win, you can always vote for Jill Stein!!! I am sure you guys will make it, really. Just continue what you’ve been doing the last weeks. Reality can change in a minute and if it does and Trump comes back, you will be too late to act if you stop now.
No don’t ever vote for Hillary! Vote for that other lady Jill Stein. That’s a protest vote! Wish you luck and lots of success! Your vote does matter

  20. Hi there! I found your first article today and was excited. Me too and many people here outside the US want Bernie Sanders for president in your country. He will be the most important world leader as well and we want a decent person there in that White House!

Do you know what I think? He can’t tell you now and neither can his wife at this moment, but he knows how important it is that HE should be the president. And he will be grateful for your (our?) hard work to get him there. I think you must go on! Don’t be discouraged. He just can’t tell you right now hoe happy he will be. Look at this tweets! I follow him on Twitter and he’s so seriously writing about anything that’s wrong in society with his ideas to solve the problems.

Look, I heard something about Clinton doing some trick to vote him out. First of all I don’t understand why there isn’t any organisation or person in your country who is in charge of the elections being fair. In the Netherlands it’s the queen / king who has that task. So normally Clinton should be out of the running herself because of having cheated. Secondly the bare fact that such a thing CAN happen there in the US, that means that there is a whole dirty game behind Sanders. People who don’t want a decent president or so or that Clinton-woman having some dirty laundry …

My questions: 1. Is it very difficult to find out WHY no-one came into action when Bernie was voted out? If you know that, you can easier write him in again. I think
    2. Can I do anything from abroad? I don t know a lot about politics and have never been in the US, but really the world is NOT served by a clown like Trump or a warhead like Clinton in such a high position!

    I can’t email but I do have facebook (www.facebook.com/sophia.dijkhuis) and twitter (@sophyvass).
Hoping to encourage you a bit from far away … Sophia Vassiliou

  21. After having discussed this with some of my friends … I hear that one of Bernie’s lawers was killed when he undertook legal steps because of Hillary’s treachery. Would that be the reason why he now says NO?
I hope you see the importancy of going on and NOT stopping this campaign. I hope I’m not too late saying this. It’s really urgent that you go on and I will help where I can …

  22. I will write about this on my blog. It’s not the most well-read blog ever, but you never know if we can raise some masses here in the Netherlands. Everyone wants a better world and that starts with good governments in some strategic countries!! Let alone that we want YOU to have a good president as well. We have a clown here as prime minister, so we know how that is …

    1. Thank you Chantal, yes I found Jane on Twitter and her tweets. Happy again! 🙂
And happy a cheater left your team. All will be well and if you guys can’t get ‘the job’ done to help Bernie Sanders into the White House, then at least you will know you did everything for it!

  24. I am deeply skeptical about the realness of this entire thing but if it’s true it sounds like Jane Sanders semi endorsed Jill Stein. Vermont is one of a few states where Jill Stein actually has a shot at winning this time around, which wouldn’t win the election, neither would writing in Bernie Sanders of course but would be a major symbolic victory, as well as a slap in the face to the DNC and raise the profile of the Green Party in people’s minds as a viable option that can actually win. Basically the write in campaign is a way to prevent that from happening, take votes from Jill Stein and make sure people who are too angry at Clinton and the DNC to pull the lever for Clinton still basically vote for a Democrat. It probably won’t even work in Vermont, with the angry progressive Bernie fan vote split between this write in stuff and Jill Stein Clinton will probably win the state, or who knows maybe Trump will. They are preparing a nice little ghetto for disaffected Bernie Democrats within the party, a padded room for you all to cool off in. The obstacles to progressives really taking over the party are massive, meanwhile the Green Party is wide open. It’s a litte rustic and undeveloped but at least some nice volunteers already took care of the paperwork to make sure it’s a real official political party. The thing about third parties such as the Green Party is they will always be impractical long shots without the money or support to win ans long as people say that about them and withhold their support. There has to be a brave few who will venture out and face the ridicule and scorn of being a Green…or a self described socialist, until there are enough standing out there, it no longer seems embarrassing to do so. Jill Stein is a great candidate in my opinion but why don’t we run a veteran politician you say? Do you really think a Democratic governor or senator or even congressperson is going to take their chances on a long shot presidential campaign and become a hated blacklisted pariah forever? If Bernie’s not gonna do it then none of the rest of them are, that’s for sure. Tulsi Gabbard got threatened just for endorsing Sanders in the primary. For that reason third parties will inevitably be full of misfits and wierdos. Thank God for them, nothing ever changes without them. If Jill Stein somehow one she would appoint a cabinet and be surrounded by experts. The difference between her and Clinton or Obama or Trump or any other corporate candidate is she isn’t going to pick a bunch of bankers, she isn’t going to give Kissinger full access to the White House, she will probably appoint an actual serious environmentalist to the EPA. That’s the most important thing Presidents do, they pick people to do jobs. It’s not like they are running the country by themselves. When it comes to the Presidency the whole “experience” argument is a bad one. Didn’t McCain invent that when he was running against Obama. Why is that suddenly a popular progressive talking point? People can vote for whoever they want, I don’t judge people for voting for Clinton or even Trump for that matter. That being said if you are an angry Bernie supporter unwilling to vote for more of the Clintons the logical choice is Jill Stein, not writing in Bernie Sanders. He’s not a cult figure, it won’t accomplish anything, it truly is throwing your vote away. Why not Jill Stein, it almost makes the Clinton people look like they were on to something when they said Bernie supporters just want to vote for a white guy. I am proud to say I voted for Bernie Sanders and part of me wishes he had run as an independent or made some bold move other than capitulating, but he did say that is what he would do from the beginning. Life goes on. The primary was far from clean, isn’t the best revenge, the best lesson we could teach the DNC establishment to abandon them?

  25. I live in a state with touchscreen voting so writing in a candidate is not only impossible but prohibited. Every time I read comments about writing in Bernie’s name, my blood boils because I can’t. I’m sick of reading ignorant uniformed comments from sanctimonious people who purport to have all the answers because this is clearly one area where they didn’t do their homework. I pray night and day for a miracle that puts Bernie in the White House but it won’t be through a write in campaign. #stillsanders

  26. Look, this is just a very hard fight between candidates that desperately WANT to be the US president. It’s very difficult to get Bernie Sanders ‘in’ again, because there simply are too eager opposers.
I don’t know what happened with that conversation with Mrs. Jane Sanders, but I do think it’s strange that someone should lie about having talked to her. Maybe that person was secretly working for one of the other candidates?

Please just go on with the good work and keep in mind that you’re doing something BIG for the whole world! Everyone will judge you and try to throw mud at you and so on. You need to stand very, very strong. Can’t you yourself have a conversation with Bernie or Jane Sanders or one of their staff people?

Many people don’t believe that what you’re doing, is really possible. That is your biggest challenge, I think! People think they will have to deal with Hillary or Donald. They think they can’t do anything to change that ‘fact’. But look at what Hillary did: she threw Donald out by saying he’s a women hater. In one sentence he was just OUT of chances and she would win with all of the votes. That’s how easy it is to change reality and you are currently changing reality too! It’s not easy what you are trying, but whatever will be the result: you will know you have done anything you could to do a beautiful thing for the world. Amen 🙂

  29. I voted early this year. I wrote in Bernie Sanders! Protest vote. Don’t count don’t care. The dnc deserves to lose! The party doesn’t respect their candidate’s, the law, the need to eliminate super delegates, the need to eliminate Obama care, respect the second amendment, the need to replace another chairwoman, etc….. Just for the record, never in my life, have I seen such a corrupt party!! To bad Bernie wasn’t running as a independent again!! Good luck on the budget committee facing another world war and a money laundering commander in chief!! Riccoriffic!!
